About me a potted history
As an English Language and Literature undergraduate, I spent my mid-term breaks cutting my teeth as a young rookie in publishing. It was the dawn of the Apple Mac and I was part of the digital revolution. They were exciting times.

Publishing in the early '90s was like an army. There were ranks and you knew your place. There was a union to answer to - the mighty NUJ. Publishing teams buzzed like a swarm of bees. You did your time and proved your worth before you moved up the ladder.

So I became an Editor myself, producing lifestyle and consumer magazines, planning content and layout, pitching to different markets, commissioning writers and contributors and overseeing the production process as a whole. As the digital age took hold, I grabbed the chance to move into Multimedia, producing CD-ROMs and interactive content, planning and managing assets, creating content copy for programmers and editing the final release. From here, I had the experience I need to jump on board the ship to cyberspace. Copywriting opportunities in old and new media flooded in.

As Group Editor for AOL Time Warner, I was channel manager for all lifestyle online content including Women, House & Home, Motoring, Pets, Horoscopes, Health, Classifieds, Weddings and more. From here, I had a wealth of contacts and copywriting projects with interactive companies, digital and creative agencies. I didn't look back.

More recently, I've divided my time between London and Ireland. I've taken courses to improve my techy know-how and I've been involved in advertising and marketing projects either side of the Irish Sea. I'm now based back in the UK.

The great thing about copywriting is that I can do it from anywhere. Lucky me.
